Abstract:
This report describes the 2020-2030 emission reductions task for the Netherlands resulting from the recent European proposal for an Effort Sharing Regulation. The report analyses the reduction task and the uncertainties therein, and the direct costs from a societal perspective. Further, the report describes the role of several (technical) measures and economic sectors involved. It concludes with considerations on the 2030 targets in the long-term perspective.
