Abstract:
Aluminium losses are defined as 'All metallic aluminium that is disposedafter use by consumers or producers and is not reused or recycled'. The
described protocol is an improvement over the previous monitoring protocol
'Aluminium Lekverliezen', published April 1996. With this new protocol the
results of the monitoring will be more consistent throughout the years and
more acceptable for the parties involved. The protocol consists of guidelines
to determine the 'aluminium losses': definition of 'aluminium losses' (which
losses are included and which not), description of relevant waste streams, a
description of relevant ways of waste removal, a description of calculation
methods for each waste stream, the information resources available
(literature, organisations, contacts), and an indication of the quality of
the available data. The monitoring results for the years 1994, 1996, and 1998
are presented in a separate report 'Aluminium lekverliezen'. 30 refs.
