Abstract:
The BUCKBLADE project aims at exploration and investigation of theexisting tools for buckling load prediction of rotor blade constructions. The
investigation aims to asses the relevant aspects for buckling of rotor
blades, to collect and describe a number of buckling load prediction methods
and to perform a validation. From the reports of those individual tasks a
compilation is made in the form of the underlying state-of-the-art report.
The specific aspects for buckling of rotor blades are described using a
notation that is also used in many of the prediction tools and methods. The
prediction tools and methods are described in such detail that they can be
used for application. Finally, the results of the so-called 'Phase-I'
evaluation, dealing with seven well described reference problems, is
reported. The conclusions drawn here refer mostly to the modelling of
specific aspects and not to the applicability to rotor blade design. 18
