Abstract:
Exploring experiments were carried out with a mini-SODAR during athree-month period. The aim was to investigate whether a mini-SODAR could
replace the meteo tower and cup-anemometer in future wind energy
measurements. The first results show that mini- SODAR could be an alternative
for all types of wind energy measurements. However, for the implementation
some further research will have to be carried out. Next to the exploring
experiments, the integration of a mini-SODAR system in the new ECN data
acquisition system was considered. 8 refs.
