Abstract:
We have made luminescent concentrator devices by
gluing multi-crystalline silicon solar cells to polymer plates containing
fluorescent dyes. The devices have been characterised by optical reflection-
and transmission measurements and with external quantum efficiency measurements.
We have applied different mirror configurations to the devices to improve
the external quantum efficiency. The measurements have been modelled
with a ray-tracing simulation. The simulation allows us to analyse loss
mechanisms in the device.
