        Abstract:
A pentasil type of zeolite, ZSM-5, containing one of the cations: Na, Coor Cu in their structure, was wash-coated on a cordierite ceramic honeycomb
using an alumina or silica binder. Binder content in the wash-coat was varied
from 14 to 22 wt.%. A wash-coat with approximately 16 - 20 wt % binder gave
the highest loading and good binding to the cordierite surface. Catalytic
activity was measured on some samples of zeolite based honeycombs with a
different cation loading and different binder. The highest NOx abatement,
approximately 80 %, was measured for the Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst coated with the
silica binder and the Co-ZSM-5 catalyst coated with the alumina binder. 8
