Abstract:
Six papers were presented at the title conference by researchers at theNetherlands Energy Research Foundation (ECN): (1) 'Biomass into electricity,
how?' on the activities at ECN with respect to the conversion of biomass into
electricity; (2) 'Production of Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) by means of
hydrogasification of biomass' on the feasibility of the SNG process on the
basis of thermodynamic analyses; (3) CASST. A new and advanced process for
biomass gasification' on the Clean Air-blown Sustainable Syngas Technology
(CASST) for the production of synthesis gas or a medium-caloric fuel gas from
biomass; (4) 'Phyllis, a database of the composition of biomass and wastes'
on a database with results of measurements and from literature. The database
is available for free via Internet; (5) 'Sustainable solutions. Biomass for
energy or materials?' on the use of biomaterials, first as a material and
second as an energy source by means of which greenhouse gas emissions can be
reduced considerably; and (6) 'Small-scale combustion of framing wood wastes'
on the technical, economical and environmental feasibility of using framing
wood wastes from the concrete industry for combustion on wood stoves. refs.
