Abstract:
This study investigates the development of the use of electricity andnatural gas in houses and buildings until 2010. For the domestic sector it is
studied how much energy is used now and will be used in future for heating,
for production of hot water, for lighting, for ventilation and for cooling.
For different sorts of buildings (shops, hospitals, schools, offices,
restaurants) it has been determined how much gas will be used for heating,
for hot water production and by humidifiers. It has also been calculated how
much electricity will be used for lighting, ventilation, cooling and
humidifying. The influence of higher and lower energy prices on the amount of
use has been studied. Experts have been asked to give their opinions on
trends in the use of buildings and the role of new technologies. The
influence of these ideas on the use of energy has been calculated. 44 refs.
