Abstract: The results of calculations made at ECN of a benchmark defined tointercompare computational tools to calculate the reactor physics characteristics of Accelerator-Driven Systems (ADS) are presented. A simplified description of the Fast Energy Amplifier (FEA) restricted to the reactor part has been analyzed. All spectrum calculations have been performed with the Monte-Carlo code MCNP-4A and the JEF-2.2 nuclear data library. The following quantities have been calculated for three values of the effective multiplication factor for begin of life (BOL):
