Abstract:
Atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations have been increased significantly by human activities since the pre-industrial era which causes an enhanced global warming of the Earth. If measures are to be taken to globally decrease these concentrations and the related temperature increase, a part of these measures can be related to our ecosystems since 30% of the increased emissions come from land use change and agricultural activities. To execute effective measures, knowledge is required about greenhouse gas emissions from these ecosystems and how these emissions are influenced by management and meteorological conditions. Accurate emission values are therefore needed for carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) to compile the full greenhouse gas balance.
