Abstract:
Scenario specifications and calculations for the Netherlands performedwith the ELSA (Energy and Lifestyle Simulation Approach) model. Four scenarios (Business as Usual, Stagnation, Sustainability through Reflective Consumption, and Sustainability through Technological Breakthrough), have been specified. The results apply to the period 1990-2010 and illustrate the possible developments of the national economy, household expenditures, the consumption of electricity, natural gas and motor fuels by households, the indirect energy embodied in the expenditures on non-energy goods and services and the aggregate emissions of CO2, SO2, NOx, CO and VOC. 20 figs., 20 tabs., 2 appendices, 16 refs.
