Abstract:
A first time model based assessment of the availability and marketpotential of local renewable energy resources is discussed for the Dutch island of Texel. Next to the implications for local employment opportunities, attention is paid to institutional requirements. Several scenarios were calculated based on the ESD-developed SAFIRE model. ESD stands for the UK institute Energy for Sustainable Development. 13 refs.
