This report analyses the impact of the Dutch subsidy scheme ?MEP? on
the cost-effectiveness of CHP plants. The MEP scheme provides a reward
for the CO2 reduction by CHP plants and of-fers therefore an incentive
for energy efficient operation.
In 2006 the MEP subsidy is available for CHP plants that started their
operation after 1 January 1997. The subsidy will be differentiated based
on CHP type and power capacity. Main outcome of the report is a subsidy-advise,
which complies with the European Community Guidelines on Aid for Environmental
Protection. Based on the subsidy-advise a budget for the CHP MEP scheme
has been estimated.
