Abstract:
Sustainable mobility is an important goal of energy transition policy in the Netherlands. This study evaluates the experience with sustainable mobility policies in the Netherlands and develops a vision on long term innovation strategies. The approach is based on a set of quantitative transition scenarios for sustainable mobility that illustrate the consequences of a wide range of European transportation regimes for Dutch technological and policy options. The study provides broad strategic guidelines for a Dutch portfolio of technological and policy options and suggests a number of steps that could be taken to improve sustainable mobility policy in the Netherlands.
