The main objective of this study is to quantify the effects of closure of all the coal-fired power stations in the Netherlands in 2017 or 2020. The main effects considered in this study are:
•CO2 emissions
•Electricity prices
•Generation mix
•Cros-border trade in electricity
•Costs of electricity production
•Cost-effectiveness of CO2 emission reduction
These impacts have been determined relative to the “Voorgenomen beleid” scenario of the National Energy Outlook 2015.
