Abstract:
Alliander, ECN, Gasunie (GTS), TenneT en Ecofys researched the influence of new technologies for heating of dwellings on the reliablity and affordability of the energy system in the future. A suboptimal combination of electric heat pumps and insulation can increase the costs of infastructure in tenfold with a limited emission reduction. A high level of insulation is needed to reach a high emission reduction and to limit infrastructure costs.
