Abstract:
New and upcoming technologies, such as micro-CHP and heat pumps, will make small-scale heat generation more diverse. Appropriate policies can advance the most beneficial technologies when the merits of the technologies are clear. For this purpose, this report compares heat generation technologies in the built environment, greenhouse horticulture and the industry and discusses the implications for CO2 emissions, energy use and costs.
