Abstract:
In this report an overview of the NOx and particulate matter emissions of combustion installations with a thermal power up to 1 MW will be given. This overview includes the emissions of the Best Available Techniques (BAT) and (future) legislation in several European countries. The emissions of installations for combustion with a nominal thermal power below 50 MW are regulated by BEMS (Dutch decree on emission limits for medium size combustion plants). The emission regulations in BEMS are based on the Best Available Techniques (BAT) for combustion under the condition that the development of installations for biomass combustion will not be hampered by posing too low emission limits. However, installations for combustion with a nominal thermal power below 1 MW are not included in BEMS.
