Abstract:
The measurements for in the title case studies were carried out in theperiod March 1992 to April 1993 in Warns, Friesland (Netherlands) for a
Lagerweij LW 18/80 wind turbine, and in a wind turbine array in Ulketocht,
Wieringermeer (Netherlands) for the NedWind 35. The measurements concern the
recording of meteorological data, wind turbine capacity, rotational speed,
position of the nacelle, and status and failure data, which were taken from
the PLC control. Supplementary information comes out of logbooks, energy
yield records and noise measurements. With respect to the confidentiality of
the data the results of the case studies are laid down in two reports. In
this public report attention is paid to the wind turbines and the set-up of
the measurements, in particular the principles of the wind turbine control.
Four methods for the control of using wind turbines are dealt with. The
measured capacity characteristics and efficiency characteristics for four
time intervals of the two above-mentioned wind turbines are used as an
example. 10 figs., 4 tabs., 2 appendices, 11 refs.
