        Abstract:
Based on laboratory experiments three potential ZV and ZH recipes areinvestigated and characterized by means of diffusion experiments. The
diffusion experiments resulted in a ZV and ZH recipe of which the
permeability has been determined. Permeability and background data result in
a recommendation with respect to the applicability of a ZV and ZH sealing for
the intended use (insulation of road shoulders). A ZV and ZH system consists
of two layers: a bottom layer (the Ca supplier) of broken asphalt cement
(BRAC) and a top layer ( a matrix material) of MgCO3. 6 tabs., 3 refs., 2
