In the FyndFarm program it will be possible to calculate the loadincrease due to wind farm operation on a variable speed turbine.
Thereto the
load increase is calculated on an artificial variable speed turbine, and the
resulting increase is assumed to be representative for all variable speed
turbines.
In this report the control and aeroelastic model of the variable
speed turbine, which is used in the FyndFarm program, are described.
The turbine is three bladed and the rated power is 500 kW. The design is based on the turbines which were investigated in the Dynamic Loads in Wind Farms II project. However some modifications were applied to the aerodynamic design in order to optimize the Cp,max. 8 figs., 2 tabs., 4 refs.
