Abstract:
The title project was carried out in the period July 1996 - October 1998.Two commercially available Dutch photovoltaic AC modules, Sunmaster 130S and
OK4E, were tested in the field by Ecofys and ECN and in the laboratory by
ECN. The results of the field tests show how the module and inverter
temperature depend on the position of the module. The purpose of the
high-temperature test in the laboratory was to accelerate the aging process
and to determine the most vulnerable components. The purpose of the two other
laboratory tests (the temperature change test and the humidity-freeze test)
was to test the mechanical properties of the AC-module. Results of all the
tests are presented. Based on the models of the aging process as a function
of the temperature the simulated aging is estimated. 13 refs.
