Abstract:
In this report ECN and RIGO present the results of the analysis on the WoON energy module, which they performed on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). Since 1995, BZK has been performing an elaborate study on the energy performance of the Dutch housing stock. This energy module is part of the WoON survey, which collects data on a wide range of topics related to housing and living. In 2012, this survey was carried out again.
The data of 4,800 audits and questionnaires have been collected in a dataset that is linked to external data. The combined datasets offer unique and detailed insight in the fundamentals of energy consumption in dwellings. Due to the survey’s long history, trends are now becoming visible in technical characteristics of dwellings as well as in behaviour.
Among other things, the report describes trends in energy labels, energy measures, energy behaviour, energy consumption, living expenses, investments and saving potentials. Based on this information, general conclusions and policy recommendations are drawn.
