Abstract:
This report contains a overview of the Dutch total and industrial energyuse in the year 2000. This overview provides a clear view of the energy
use of several sectors in the Netherlands and the subdivision of this
energy use across different functions like heat, power, and feedstock.
This overview is based on CBS statistics of the Dutch energy use, together
with additional information on the use of heat across different temperature
intervals. The refining sector has been added to the industrial sector
in contrast to CBS figures where the refining sector is regarded as
part of the energy sector.
Sankey diagrams are made for the Netherlands, the industrial sector,
and the chemical and refining sector. These Sankey diagrams show the
conversion of energy carriers like natural gas, oil and coal to the
energy functions like electricity, heat, and feedstock. The demand of
heat is subdivided according to the heat demand per temperature interval.
