Abstract:
A brief overview is given of several aspects of decommissioning ofnuclear installations. Attention is paid to legislation and regulations,
decommissioning techniques, costs, the contents of the decommissioning plan,
and decommissioning projects in progress.In the conclusions and
recommendations the role of the Netherlands Energy Research Foundation (ECN)
in the field of decommissioning is outlined, focusing on the Dutch situation.
