Abstract:
In order to reduce the uncertainty of fluence measurements in NuclearPower Plants (NPPs) in particular VVER-1000 reactors, an international
benchmark exercise was organised by the Russian GOSATOMNADZOR. The benchmark
consists among others out of irradiation and measuring of sets of activation
monitors and analysis of measured and calculated data produced by various
institutes, adjustment of the calculated neutron spectra and evaluation of
the damage neutron field parameters and their uncertainties at the location
of the measurements. This report is a revised version, taking into account
the conclusions of the Balakovo Workshop in Rossendorf. Results are presented
from the neutron spectra calculated with the Monte Carlo Code TRAMO by
Forschungs Zentrum Rossendorf, adjusted with the reaction rates obtained from
the monitor sets from ECN. The adjusted spectra have been used to determine
the neutron fluence (rate) above 0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 MeV. With respect to the
first version of this report experimental data have been added for the
reaction "93Nb(n,n'). The data for the reaction "63Cu(n,aalpha) and the
fission reactions have been revised. Also more realistic estimates are
presented for the uncertainties in the measured activities. The influence on
the result of the change in fluence rate during constant reactor power and
deviations in some of the reactions rates have been investigated as well. 15
