Abstract:
The experiment series R276 (MANIA) is part of a materials irradiationtesting programme, investigating different types of martensitic or austenitic
stainless steel. Several experiments within this programme are, or have been
irradiated in the HFR Petten. This report presents the final metrology
results obtained from activation monitors in the specimen holder MANIA- 13,
coded as R276-13, containing the austenitic stainless steel types 304-SXB
plate and 308LSXB/TIG weld. The R276/13 assembly was irradiated in a TRIMURTI
insert placed into channel 02 of a TRIO type capsule in HFR position G5. The
aim of this irradiation for specimen holder R276-13 was to reach a target
damage level of 7.5 dpa at a nominal temperature of 335C. The monitor sets
are used to calculate the thermal and fast neutron fluences, displacement per
atom and the generated helium content. Additionally detailed information
concerning an estimation of the fluence and damage doses received by each
specimen and its temperature during irradiation are presented. The main
results of the thermal and fast neutron fluence measurements, indicate that
the obtained damage levels in the steel specimens loaded in this specimen
holder range from 5.6 to 8.0 dpa. The average temperatures of the specimens
during irradiation varied mainly between 300 and 335C. Detailed data are
presented. 17 refs.
