Abstract:
The EXOTIC project is a contribution of NRG Petten to the European FusionTechnology Programme on ceramic tritium breeding materials for the Helium
Cooled Pebble-Bed blanket concept. The irradiation of specimen holder
EXOTIC-8/1 (R212-8/1) in the HFR Petten, loaded with Li2TiO3 pebbles, is
part of this programme. The R212-8/1 assembly was irradiated in channel 1 of
a TETRA type facility in the peripheral HFR core position H2 during eight HFR
cycles ending March 1998. This report presents the final neutron metrology
results obtained from activation monitor sets as well as from gamma scan
wires situated inside the specimen holder. The main result of the thermal and
fast neutron fluence measurements and the calculated amounts of tritium
produced are presented. 19 refs.
