Presented at: INI meeting, Tsukuba, Japan, 8-13 februari 2015.
Abstract:
The International Nitrogen Initiative (INI) was established in 2003 as a joint SCOPE and IGBP Program.
•
Network of scientists, with a strong science-policy interaction.
•
The overall goal of INI is to optimise nitrogen's beneficial role in sustainable food production and minimize nitrogen's negative effects on human health and the environment resulting from food and energy production.
INI is organized on a regional basis with an overall umbrella body (Steering Committe, supported by an Advisory Committee) to provide coordination. For more information about INI, its objectives, structure, etc., please look at initrogen.org.
