Abstract:
This report provides guidance to policymakers at the local, national and European level to foster the large-scale roll-out of electromobility. Local policymakers directly steer the deployment of electromobility, either by directly managing projects, or by supervising/authorising them. They can help electromobility grow by stimulating the uptake of electric vehicles, supporting the deployment of the various forms of charging infrastructure, and by reaching out towards citizens. National policymakers provide national regulatory frameworks and foster fiscal incentives by developing a vision on sustainable mobility, setting clear targets, developing and implementing an action plan, setting up regulations on safety, and facilitating and enforcing the establishment of standards. European policymakers play a crucial role in fostering and enabling the electromobility roll-out, by providing guidelines, norms and directives for cars and vans, charging infrastructure, and low carbon fuels.
