Abstract:
In a project conducted in a test house on the grounds of ECN, the applicationof a water filled bag tank for medium-term storage of heat for domestic
space heating and hot tap water is tested and optimised. Acceptable
values of the heat capacity and the thermal resistance between the bag
tank and its environment depend both on local weather conditions and
the demand for space heating and hot tap water. With the aid of simulations,
acceptable ranges for these values are found and predictions are made
about the contribution of the bag tank to the energy demand of the test
house. The paper presents the results of the simulations. At the time
being, measurements are initiated to determine the actual performance
of the bag tank in the test house. These will be reported in separate
papers at a later stage.
