Presented at: 20th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, Barcelona, Spain, 6-10 juni 2005.
Abstract:
A summary is given of the multidisciplinary
research efforts in the Netherlands in the field of polymer-based photovoltaics
(PV) between 1997 and 2005. It has been shown that different types of
bulk heterojunctions namely polymer:fullerene,
polymer:polymer and polymer:metal-oxide cells can be made in a laboratory environment
with relatively simple and new low temperature deposition techniques
using conjugated polymers as the primary absorber. State-of-the art
efficiencies have been achieved for all polymer based solar cell concepts.
