Abstract:
This report is a co-production of ECN and SenterNovem and has been preparedfor the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs as part of the Dutch CHP
monitoring project. The objectives of the study are twofold. Firstly,
it provides an overview of the development of Dutch CHP for the period
1998-2003 in terms of installed capacity, efficiencies and operational
hours. Secondly an overview is given of changes in the market conditions
for CHP (in terms of gas and electricity prices, tariffs and taxes)
in the period 2000-2004. A trend analysis has been carried out which
shows the impact of changing market conditions on the production costs
of CHP electricity. The results show that the market situation for CHP
has improved in 2004 compared to the period 2001-2003.
