Abstract:
Attention is paid to the newly started research program of theNetherlands Energy Research Foundation on thin film solar cells. The
potential of a-Si, CuInSe2, CdTe, f-Si and nc-TiO2 solar cells is assessed
on the basis of data and estimations regarding future costs per Wp,
producability, environmental impacts, efficiencies, service life,
applicability and material supplies. It appears that the techniques are about
equal. The choice is made for research on f-Si and nc-TiO2. The progress of
developments of other techniques, in particular CuInSe2, will be followed
sharply
