Abstract:
In its efforts to reduce the amount of energy which is required tot drive motor vehicles with their comfort systems the vehicle a/c industry does not limit itself to developing new refrigerants and compontent only. Under the project name Topmacs the opportunities of a new automotive a/c concept is presently developed by Centro Ricerche Fiat, Valeo, Iveco and various European research institutes and technical universities. The Topmacs project has now reached the stage that its operational principle will soon be tested in an automotive environment.
