Abstract:
The planned renovation of the ECN General Laboratory offers thepossibility to reduce the energy consumption of and in the laboratory
building. For the heat and electricity demand after renovation of the lab the
target values must be similar or even better than the energy efficient
building of the business unit Renewable Energy, solar and Wind (ECN-DE). Also
photovoltaic (PV) systems must be applied and use will be made of the
existing cogeneration installation. Primary fuel consumption can be reduced
to 80 kWh/m2 which is 40% below the level of the ECN-DE building. Finally,
attention will be paid to thermal comfort aspects and environment-friendly
building materials. 14 figs., 4 tabs., 1 ref.
