Abstract:
In a WIMS7 (an extremely flexible package of methods that can be used tomodel any type of thermal reactor) calculation the bulk of the nuclides
present are usually treated with the equivalence theory for the spatial and
energy shielding. However, some of the important fission and absorption
resonance nuclides are treated in more detail by the subgroup method. Both
methods produce the group averaged cross sections. This report describes the
resonance treatment in WIMS7 by the subgroup method. The method of
calculation of the group fluxes by use of the first-flight collision
probabilities will also be explained. 8 refs.
