Abstract:
The findings of the second phase of the study 'Energy Conservation Stimulation Programme for the CSFR' are presented. In the first phase energy
conservation in the manufacturing sector has been considered. In this report
energy conservation in buildings is dealt with. Since the separation at the
end of 1992 of the Federation into two independent Republics, it was
inevitable to conduct two separate studies. Only a limited overlap exists in
the contents between the underlying and the Slovak study: basically, it
concerns two different studies for the two countries. The report is aimed at
assisting the Czech Energy Agency in formulating energy conservation policies
and designing effective energy conservation programmes. The energy
conservation problems in the Czech building sector are outlined. An analysis
has been made of the energy problems within the broader context of housing
and rent policies. The energy conservation potential of non-residential
buildings has been estimated. Also attention is paid to the economic and
financial impact of energy conservation measures. Recommendations are given,
focusing on the national and local level of policy preparation and for the
Energy Agency. 6 figs., 6 tabs.
