Abstract:
To gain insight in the coal firing potential of industrial (steam) boilers, an inventory study has been made of delivered boilers by means of the reference-list of boiler manufacturers. According to the inventory there are about 120 industrial locations in the Netherlands with a capacity of more than 25 MWth. The overal capacity is 16.400 MWth. The maximum available capacity for direct coal firing in the year 2000 due to replacement and expansion will be about 24.000 MWth.
