Abstract: This report presents an outlook for choices on energy-infrastructureon the long (2030) and the short term (2010) for the urban district of Amsterdam-Noord. In the long term there are substitutes for natural gas with low CO2 emissions. Also district heating and the all-electric-scenario are possible. Most alternatives need a different energy-infrastructure. Because of uncertainties it is not possible to make a choice now for the future. Reduction of energy use fits in every scenario. For the short-term district heating gives the most CO2 emission reduction. It is recommended to gain experience with the all-electric-scenario via the implementation of small-scale projects..
