Abstract:
To prepare an environmental certificate for pulverized coal fly ash(PCFA) as a substitute for cement (27%) leaching tests were carried out at 6
cement specimens, one reference material and 5 in which (PCFA) has been used.
From the results it appears for the applied concrete composition that the
impact of PCFA is very low. The available fraction of Se and Mo can increase
a little. The diffusion test shows that the emissions are low. In general the
emissions are far below the 10% of the U1-limit, as formulated in the Dutch
Building Decree ('Bouwbesluit') of 1995. Considering the low emissions, a
relation between the leaching of fly ash in concrete and the leaching itself
can not be quantified on the basis of the results of the leaching tests. 5
