Abstract:
A systematic study and assessment of developments in the field of theenergy infrastructure in urban areas has been carried out for the city of
Amsterdam, Netherlands. One of the developments in Amsterdam concerns a
considerable extension of the number of dwellings and other buildings
connected to heat distribution systems. The most important consequences for
the housing corporations and aspects to be taken into account when connecting
new or existing houses to heat distribution systems relate to costs,
management and control, comfort and security of supply. Als the environmental
